PRS TO LAUNCH 'PARAPSYCHOLOGY & LABORATORY RESEARCH' PROJECT IN SPRING 2008!

State College, Pa. - Just days after the successful launch of PRS' new series, "Paranormal State," PRS announced the formation of its new research project - Parapsychology & Laboratory Research, or PLR for short

"PLR will help us pursue more academic and scientific research to our investigations," said PRS founder Ryan Buell. "It's something that we've been talking about since the formation of our society six years ago."

PLR will become the second "department" within PRS. The first, Field Investigation & Research (FIR) formed in 2001 and is the focus of "Paranormal State."

"FIR is more research and detective-like theory," said Buell. "The problem is that because we're spending so much time focusing on trying to help the clients, we're unable to devote a large time to scientific discovery and application. PLR will be set up to help us accomplish this task."

Buell said that the primary goal of PRS will still be to help people understand their experiences and help them if possible.

"There's a desire for the paranormal field to become more scientific. I agree, but we cannot forget that there are people who are having difficulty with their experiences," said Buell. "But I think we can eventually do both - conduct scientific research while also helping people. That's our ultimate goal. But it takes a long time."

PLR is expected to launch in the spring of 2008. No Director has been selected yet. However, Buell states that there is a very active interest within the society for PLR.

"FIR has grown, developed and found its purpose," said Buell. "The time is now to develop a second department to finally fulfill the interests of those within the society and university to investigate the supernatural with the most advanced scientific equipment possible."

Students, faculty or professionals wishing to participate in PLR should visit the PLR website or email PRS at PLR@paranormalresearchsociety.org
