FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Parapsychologists and Paranormal Researchers Unite
to Research and Explore the Unknown
State College, Pa & Durham, NC: Paranormal Research Society founder and Director Ryan Buell and Rhine Research Center Executive Director Kala Ambrose are pleased to announce the alliance of the Paranormal Research Society (PRS) with the legendary Rhine Research Center (RRC).
The Rhine Research Center (www.rhine.org) spans 70 years of historic and groundbreaking scientific research in the study of psi and the paranormal, beginning in the 1930’s as the Duke Parapsychology Lab and continuing today with research and education in the RRC located in Durham, NC. The Paranormal Research Society (www.pennstateprs.com) was formed in 2001, starting out as a student club at Penn State. Now an independent organization, the researchers explore the paranormal in the field investigating reports of ghost activity and other phenomena. PRS currently has a national television series on A&E called “Paranormal State.” PRS is located in State College, PA.
According to Kala Ambrose, the Executive Director of the Rhine Research Center, “The alliance between the Rhine Research Center and the Paranormal Research Society is one whose time has come. Dr. J.B. Rhine led the exploration into the study of Consciousness and the existence in all of its forms including what is described as the paranormal and psi related activity. We now have greater technology and the ability to push the boundaries and explore these fields like we have never done before. Now is the time when we step forward again, with open minds to explore the realms of science and spirituality, to uncover the far-reaching mysteries of humanity, both within and beyond. Combining the careful scientific study from our scientists at the Rhine with the direct field reporting from the PRS researchers allows our work to move forward in new directions and dimensions as well as at a faster pace than previously seen.”
Adds Buell, “It has been one of my dreams to one day work with the famous Rhine Research Center. They have over 70 years of research, documents and records in their libraries. To top it off, almost every major scientist and academic person in the paranormal field is associated with Rhine. They have a tremendous amount of wisdom and experience that we can all learn from. I feel that PRS can bring new energy and ideas to the table as we move forward in this exciting venture.”
The alliance between the RRC and PRS will be seen this September as the Rhine joins UNIV-CON (www.univcon.org), a national paranormal conference. In addition, PRS will be hosting a Paranormal Field Workshop for the Rhine in NC in October. Beyond the focus of greater scientific research into the paranormal, the RRC and PRS are collaborating on expanding the educational programs, which the Rhine offers in Parapsychology, including a new series of Summer School Programs and other educational events to begin in 2009.
